It is well documented that eating disorders affect the Latino population. However, assessments and evidence-based treatments have been developed and tested primarily with European Whites. Cultural and system barriers prevent Latinos/as from access to specialized treatment, therefore contributing to health disparity. Taking in consideration the culture, context, and language is essential to providing culturally competent care. This webinar will provide discussion about the cultural adaptations that are needed in order to provide a culturally sensitive treatment for Latinxs.
